Automation Delay

Automation Delay

Pause monday.com automations for exactly the right amount of time

Automation Delay lets teams insert a delay step into any monday.com automation recipe, so the next action runs only after the selected time has passed.

Need more control over when your monday.com automations run?

Not every workflow should happen instantly. Automation Delay gives your team time to respond, review, or finish a task before the next automation step fires.

Automations fire immediately, whether you're ready or not

Automation Delay inserts a pause between automation steps so the next action happens at the right time.

Manual follow-ups waste time and create delays

Set a delay once and let monday.com resume the workflow automatically when the timer finishes.

Complex workflows need breathing room between steps

Add delays in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months to match any workflow pace.

What Automation Delay can do

Delay automation workflows

Add a delay step between monday automation actions so the next action runs only after the selected time has passed.

Choose a custom delay amount

Set the delay using a number selected by the user, such as 5, 30, or 120.

Select the delay unit

Choose whether the delay is measured in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months.

No board data changes required

The app does not need to read or edit board items. It waits for the selected time and tells monday.com to continue.

Use cases

Sales Follow-Ups

Wait 2 days after a lead is created before sending a follow-up task.

Project Management

Delay a status change until a review period has passed.

Operations

Wait several hours before assigning cleanup or verification work.

Support & HR

Give responders time to act before escalating, or space out onboarding steps.
